Busy Season

I am writing this blog from Stevenson Washington, where I just completed the first Olympic Development Training camp of the summer of 2022. The is the first of 3 summer stops for me, the other 2 being Long Beach California, and Marseille France.

We sail on Hood River, which is commonly referred to as “The Gorge”. The Gorge is unlike any other place I have been, and makes every venue feel easy. We had champagne days of 15-18, then other days where we saw gusts up to 30 knots. It was incredibly challenging initially, but each day got easier and easier.

The area we were sailing in is one of the most amazing I have ever travelled to. It is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. You can ski, hike, windsurf, and mountain bike all in the same day if you had sufficient energy. The picture below is from a hike we did on our off day up Mt. Hood. As a Floridian, seeing snow in July was pretty wild, and definitely one of the coolest moments off the water.

From here, I am driving down to Long Beach for the next round of Olympic Development Training as we head into the US Open Sailing Series Long Beach.

Thank you everybody for the continued support, none of this would be possible without everybody’s generosity.

All the best,

Noah Lyons
